Susan Yassky is a Brooklyn-based-and-raised playwright and dramaturg. Recent plays include MANIFESTATIONS (Ojai Playwrights Conference finalist, O’Neill NPC semi-finalist), JAKE (workshops at The Hearth and Ensemble Studio Theatre), and A VARIATION (Seven Devils Playwrights Conference semi-finalist). She is a recipient of Playwrights Horizons’ Kate and Seymour Weingarten commission, and a member of EST/Youngblood. Previously, was the Literary Associate for The Civilians, and a Dramaturgy and Literary Management Apprentice at Actors Theatre of Louisville. She loves working with playwrights at any stage of the development process.

She’s also an educator! She is a full-time substitute and occasional playwriting teacher at Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn, and a creative writing instructor at Writopia Lab. According to one of her playwriting students, she is an “incredible teacher,” so you should definitely hire her to teach playwriting. It’s lowkey her favorite thing.

Susan received her MFA in Dramatic Writing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she won the Chair’s Award for Excellence in Dramatic Writing. She received her BA in Theater Studies and Humanities from Yale College.
